10.11.2008: Dr. Armin Schuler is BWK’s new management spokesman
Stuttgart, 10 November 2008. On 1 November, Dr. Armin Schuler became the new spokesman to the management of BWK GmbH Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft (BWK) in Stuttgart. His main duties over the next few years will include extending the areas of the company's investment activity to German medium-sized businesses which are not quoted on the stock exchange. In line with BWK’s existing investment approach, this will focus in particular on family-run businesses in situations of succession or fast growth.
Schuler, 46, previously held the post of management spokesman with a subsidiary of the Commerzbank, CBG Commerz Gruppe, in Frankfurt am Main. He has nearly 20 years' experience in equity participation in Germany. After studying economics at the University of Bayreuth, he began his career as a management consultant. In the early 1990s, he joined BDW, a company of the Dresdner Bank Group, which specialises in partnership-based minority stakeholdings. Before going on to head up CBG Commerz Gruppe in 1999, he held top positions within the services and automotive sectors.
BWK is one of Germany's leading private equity companies and pursues a long-term approach to investment. The company, which was founded in 1990, focuses on medium-sized businesses and employs a staff of 16. BWK currently has around €500 million invested in 26 German businesses, which employ over 48,000 staff between them and turn over in the region of €8 million.
